Philadelphia Photographer• Business Spotlight • MIY Artistry

MIY Artistry LLC is a gathering place in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where patrons can get in touch with his or her crafty side. We believe in bringing people together to work on individual crafts from out project menu, while providing a relaxing environment. If a customer is not in touch with his or her crafty side we hope to offer a fun experience for him or her to get in touch with that side.

I met the owner, Sabrina Price-Powell, at a recent head shot session in my studio. This former analyst and director had an experience on a trip and the idea for MIY Artistry was born. I love when people reach a point ion their life and decide to change it up and follow their passion. No matter how old you are, inexperienced or gun shy pull the trigger and go for it!

I was honored to be a part of her “tribe” as she called the people in the room this Saturday at a small gathering in the Glenside shop . Some of the crafts you can make are, luggage tags, wallets, flasks, passport holder and bracelets.

A new venture. new space and new friends all await at MIY Artistry.  The official opening is on February 12th 2019. Go see Sabrina and her crew in Glenside! 107 S Easton Road, Unit 105 A Glenside, PA 19038

Valley Green Inn of Fairmount Park • Philadelphia, PA Wedding Photographer • Ashley & Shay

There are many great sections of Fairmount Park, but the 1,800 acres around Valley Green known as Wissahickon Park may be the most stunning.  Ashley & Shay’s wedding  took place here on October 21st 2018.  The setting along the river stunning, and  The Valley Green Inn had a cozy and elegant vibe.  We could not get enough of The Wissahickon Valley Park with its incredible foliage at every turn.

Throughout the years, the Inn has been the focus of numerous paintings, postcards and writings, as well as the setting for many special occasions. T.A. Daily wrote in 1922 that, “The charm of Valley Green varies not only with the seasons, but with the day of the week and the hour of the day.

Congrats to a great couple, Ashley & Shay!

Chestnut Hill Business District invited brides-to-be to the ultimate wedding planning event. Brides were treated to a full day of bridal style, tips and treats from participating businesses along Germantown Ave.

Despite the rain, the event kicked off at The Chateau at Sugarloaf and the brides received a complimentary gift bag that included a mini veil and commemorative champagne flute. Lunch, hair and make-up sessions, cake tastings, and gifts were all available to the bride throughout the day at participating businesses. Brides and their entourages were able to take advantage of a free trolley service that will be traveling to each event location.

Philadelphia Portrait and Event Photographer • Nest Chestnut Hill •Thanks for the memories!

In September of 2015, I was reading the Chestnut Hill Local and saw a new place space was opening in the neighborhood. I grabbed a few business cards and postcards and headed over.

I soon met the owner, Kara Hertzog at Nest, a play space that offers a variety of classes for children six weeks old to six years old. We became fast friends and a natural fit for my photography business.  I have had the pleasure of working with Kara and her team for the past few years.  It was an honor to be a part of the Nest team and so many families events at Nest.

We will miss you and thanks for the opportunities and memories!

As a parting gift please visit the gallery and download or order your pics!

Sweet! Philadelphia Wedding and Event Photography

Woodmere Cake Show- Sweet Inspiration

Woodmere Art Museum hosted local cake artists Sweet Inspiration, in their beautiful museum.

This year’s theme was based on the stunning children’s book illustrations by Philadelphia artist, Charles Santore, for books such as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the Wizard of Oz, Snow White and more. Ten of the Philadelphia area’s top cake artists created whimsical cakes inspired by one of the illustrations of their choice, and the results were spectacular cakes highlighting the artistry of cake decorating.

There was a fun and fabulous opening reception, where each cake artist had a chance to describe their cake and some of the advanced cake decorating techniques they used, as well as what inspired them about the illustration they used as the basis for their cakes.

Satin Ice, which is made in the USA and exported to over 65 distributors worldwide, Satin Ice has a long running history of being the professional’s choice for premium quality fondant and gum paste. Check out the Satin Ice’s blog post about the event:
